Open cPanel → Email Accounts → Create, choose the domain and mailbox name, set a strong password, select the storage limit, and click Create.
Before you start
You need access to the cPanel account that owns the domain. You should also know the mailbox name you want, such as sales@example.com.
Use a unique password for the mailbox. Reusing a website or cPanel password makes a compromised mailbox much more expensive to clean up.
Create the mailbox
- Sign in to cPanel.Open your hosting control panel and locate the Email section.
- Open Email Accounts.Select Email Accounts, then click Create.
- Choose the domain and username.For example, select
example.comand entersales. - Set the password.Use the password generator or enter a strong unique password.
- Choose storage.Set the mailbox quota that makes sense for the account, then click Create.
Connect a phone or mail application
Back on the Email Accounts screen, use Connect Devices for the mailbox. cPanel will show the secure IMAP, POP3 and SMTP settings for that server.
Prefer the secure SSL/TLS settings. If your mail app asks whether SMTP authentication is required, the answer is normally yes.
Common problems
The mailbox says it is full
Check the mailbox quota in cPanel. An account can hit its assigned mailbox quota even when the hosting account itself still has plenty of disk space available.
Mail sends but does not arrive
That is usually a deliverability or DNS problem rather than a mailbox-creation problem. Check the domain's MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records next.
